CAMPAIGN: Protesters outside the Octagon Theatre
PROTESTERS gathered outside the Octagon Theatre as the University of Bolton held a function there.
Representatives from the University College Union and Unison held placards, chanted and banged on the windows of the Octagon Cafe.
The unions are campaigning to reinstate Damien and Jennifer Markey, who were sacked for allegedly leaking information to the press about vice-chancellor George Holmes.
A spokesman for the university previously said they were "comfortable" that procedures had been followed and said sackings were not connected with staff members being trade union officials.
