The Mercure Bolton Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa is holding its first Real Ale and Cider Festival to raise money for Bolton Hospice. There will be 15 Cask Hand Pulls with more than 10 breweries of real ale, two real cider all supplemented with bottled beer, Red Bank strawberry wine and cocktails.

2. Peterloo Commemoration March, Bolton Socialist Club, Sunday, August 16 from 8am

A march to remember those who died in the 1819 slaughtering and mark the 196th anniversary of what is referred to as one of the most tragic days in working class history.

This new family friendly exhibition shows you a range of animals from around the world: parrots to insects, kangaroos to otters, seashells to penguins and lots of weird and wonderful facts.
