BOLTON presenter and DJ Sara Cox is gearing up to take on The Crystal Maze for charity.
Hosted by Stephen Merchant and filmed at The Crystal Maze Experience in London, the one-off special will see five celebrities take on the four zones from the much-loved '90s show before sending them in to face the fans in the iconic Crystal Dome.
The Crystal Maze Experience has announced it will be opening a second attraction in Manchester in spring 2017.
Joining Sara for the television programme - to be screened on Channel 4 at 9pm on Sunday, October 16 - will be football legend Rio Ferdinand, actress Michelle Keegan, Paralympics champ Jonnie Peacock and comedian Josh Widdicombe.
The Crystal Maze special will form part of a wider season of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) programming on Channel 4.
Fans of the show, aired between 1990 and 1995, will be able to enjoy watching the contestants pit their wits against the Aztec, Medieval, Futuristic and Industrial once again.
And, next year, they will be able to try their own luck when The Crystal Maze Manchester opens.
Crystal Maze Live Experience founder, Tom Lionetti-Maguire, said: “I can’t wait to bring the show here, and I cannot wait for people to see what we will be doing – the venue will not be a surprise to anyone, but what’s inside most certainly will!”
