AS the new Call Of Duty begins to fly off the shelves, one actor has spoken of his experience of appearing in the trailer for the popular video game.

Call Of Duty WW2 was released on Friday and for the last few months, the trailers have been screened across TV and the internet, showcasing the series’ return to the era of the Second World War.

And one man who appeared in the commercial was Bolton’s own Dom Holmes, who grew up in Great Lever before pursuing his acting career in London.

The 24-year-old appears in the live action trailer and plays a young office worker who rejoins his ‘squad’ upon hearing the game’s release.

Dom auditioned for the role in September at Spotlight studio in London and then flew out to Prague to shoot the commercial.

He said: “It was a wicked experience. I did not expect it to be as big as it was. I thought maybe I would see it on TV a couple of times but I have had people who have seen it at the cinema, all over social media.

“It is quite exciting to have other people who love it. I actually used to play it a good few years ago when it was the World War Two theme.”

The advert is called ‘Reassemble’ and follows a group of old friends who get back together.

Dom said he had been a player of the game when he was younger but had not played it for some time since its focus shifted to modern warfare.

“I could relate to the advert and the whole sense of getting the old squad back together and how they rediscover themselves.

“I loved the game when I was younger. I don’t so much now but this has reminded me a bit of how I used to enjoy it. I will definitely be playing this one.”

He said the group became close while shooting the trailer, which only took a few days, and he even celebrated his 24th birthday while he was in Prague.

Dom attended Mount St Joseph Catholic School in Farnworth before he went to Pendleton Sixth Form Centre and then to the Guildford School of Acting (GSA), graduating in 2015.

He has appeared in films including Splintered and is in a current film called Cannibals and Carpet Fitters.

In the future he is hoping to move into drama and work in venues including the Royal Exchange Theatre, but he was tight-lipped about what he was working on currently.

He said: “I do really enjoy comedy and the commercials but I would like to get into drama.

“I have got a couple of things I am auditioning for. My first couple of years have been really interesting and it is an exciting time.”
