A FARNWORTH man has been jailed for a "sustained assault" on his partner - which was carried out in front of a two-year-old child.
Jamie Walsh, aged 28, was given a 16-week prison term by magistrates when he was sentenced on January 29.
The attack was carried out on December 23, with a two-year-old child in the room at the time, while Walsh was on bail.
Walsh, of Sandford Park, had previously denied the assault but changed his plea on Thursday.
He was also ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and given a restraining order barring him from contacting the victim.
