MISS Farnworth And Kearsley has paid a heartfelt tribute to a fellow beauty queen who was killed in a car crash.
Skye Mitchell, a former Junior Miss North West, died along with her friend Caitlin Huddleston, also 18, in a crash in Cumbria on Friday, July 14.
Christina Cunningham, currently Miss Farnworth and Kearsley, was Miss North West last year when Miss Mitchell, an anti-bullying campaigner, was her junior.
The pair were close friends and Miss Cunningham described her as 'her little sister'.
Miss Cunningham, aged 25, said: "Last year I was Miss North West and she was my little sister with me and not having any siblings it felt like she really was my little sister.
"She was the most beautiful, caring, loving person you could ever wish to meet. There will be people who will never achieve what she managed to in such a short time.
"Sometimes it felt like I was her little sister. She had so many amazing ideas.
"I am hoping to carry on her anti-bullying campaign. I would be honoured to carry on what she started."
