A WOMAN has appeared before Bolton magistrates accused of causing the death of a pensioner by careless driving.
Dorothy Ann Shelmerdine, aged 42, of Kemble Close, Horwich, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The pensioner, 82-year-old Paul Broderick, was injured on December 4 last year, suffering serious injuries when Shelmerdine’s Ford Fiesta collided with him in Green Lane, Horwich.
Mr Broderick died in hospital three days later.
Magistrates granted her unconditional bail until June 28 when she will appear again at Bolton Crown Court.
