VOLUNTEERS in Horwich had a "record-breaking" litter pick after filling 51 bags with rubbish from a playing field.
Members of the community came together on Sunday morning and set out to clear Hilton Playing Fields.
The event is the latest to be organised by the Horwich First Community Group in response to complaints about litter around the town.
A spokesman from Horwich First said: "Once everything had been bagged up, the group of volunteers and local residents had collectively removed over 51 bags of rubbish from Hilton Playing Fields, a record for the Horwich Community Litter Pickers."
The next Horwich community litter pick will take place at Tigers Clough on Saturday, May 26 at 10am.
