A POLICE probe has been launched following allegations a Bolton Wanderers fan made an anti-Welsh comment during the Whites clash with Cardiff City.
It is understood the fan was near the Cardiff City dugout at the time.
Officers are now working closely with club bosses and have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances and identify the offender.
A police spokesman said: “Following the fixture at the Reebok Stadium between Bolton Wanderers FC and Cardiff City FC on Saturday, Greater Manchester Police were informed of allegations that an anti-Welsh insult had been made by a Bolton Wanderers FC supporter.”
