Police hunt for man after sexual assault Police hunt for man after sexual assault

A WOMAN was sexually assaulted in a Bolton shop.

It happened at Home Bargains, in Newport Street, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on August 9.

The woman, aged 20, was in the store when she was approached by the man who sexually assaulted her twice.

He then left the store.

Police have today issued a CCTV image of the man suspected of the offence and are appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

He is described as being Asian, in his 40s and about 5ft 7in tall.

He was of a medium build with an unshaven face and a handlebar moustache.

He was wearing cream or beige traditional Asian attire, which appeared unwashed, and dirty white trainers. He was also wearing a blue baseball cap.

Detective Constable Stuart Round, of Bolton CID, said: "This woman was just minding her own business when she was accosted by this man who sexually assaulted her twice.

"Clearly she is very distraught that this stranger made her feel so uncomfortable and he is obviously a man who has no regard for others.

"I would ask people look very carefully at the CCTV image as he has quite a distinctive appearance and I'm sure people would recognise him if they saw him on the street. If you do, or you have information about his whereabouts, we need to hear from you."

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police on 0161 856 0959 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
