AUTHOR Glen Atkinson visits Halliwell Local History Society on Tuesday, May 27, to give a talk on the underground canals of Worsley.
The event takes place at St Luke’s Church, Chorley Old Road, starting at 7.30pm.
Organisers a promising a fascination account of the complex of underground canals which were used to work The Worsley Navigable Levels — an extensive series of coal mines under Worsley and Salford.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
