THE BBC was in Horwich yesterday to find out if people in the town want to break away from Bolton and join neighbouring Chorley.
Staff from North West Tonight were following up a Bolton News story which explained that an online poll run by residents group Horwich First indicated that people do have an appetite for the change.
The story followed a series of articles in this newspaper, which included the Chorley Council leader Alistair Bradley stating that he was “flattered” that Horwich residents would consider becoming part of the Lancashire town.
Bolton Council leader Cliff Morris, pictured, has agreed to meet with some Horwich residents to explain why the town benefits from its links with Bolton Council.
