THE Mayor of Bolton Cllr Martin Donaghy helped spread some Christmas cheer this week – while raising much-needed funds for charity.
On Saturday the Mayor’s Charity Christmas Fair took place in Bolton Town Hall, with dozens of groups selling bric-a-brac, books, clothes and toys to raise money.
Father Christmas also popped in to say hello to the children and take note of their Christmas wishes, with every kid receiving a gift from him.
All monies raised from the event will be split between a variety of Bolton charities, including those chosen by Cllr Donaghy to be his Mayoral charities this year.
They include Bolton Hospice, Lagans Foundation, The Deaf Society and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
