FARNWORTH’S Christmas lights will be switched on today.
The area has not had any official lights for the last few years because it has not had the money.
But this year, funds from the town’s area forum are helping light up the town.
The lights will be switched on by Cllr Noel Spencer today at 4pm in Brackley Street Square in front of the Home Bargains store.
The festivities will continue into the evening with music and carols from local youngsters and the Farnworth and Walkden Brass Band.
