SO Kat Dibbits thinks meat-eating men make better lovers?

The Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation (VVF) believes that vegetarians are proud to stand up and be counted in more ways than one!

Impotence affects one in 10 men in the UK and, while surgery is an option, changing the menu is an easier way of ensuring you can rise to the occasion. The main cause of impotence is clogged arteries, and the foods high in saturated fat and cholesterol (meat and dairy products) that we know clog up the arteries leading to and from the heart can also block the blood flow to other vital organs! In addition, these foods increase the risk of diabetes and obesity; also linked to impotence.

On the other hand, a plant-based diet rich in fruit and vegetables, whole grains, pulses, nuts and seeds, protects against heart disease and many other conditions.

Dr Neal Barnard, founder and president of the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine, suggests that, for many men, "the threat to sexual potency may be a greater motivator than the risk of a heart attack".
