WANDERERS survived a second-half onslaught from a Wilfried Zaha-inspired Palace to take a point from a snowy Selhurst Park.

Dougie Freedman was given a good reception on his return to South East London and his knowledge of the Eagles effectively saw the two sides cancel each other out early on.

Chris Eagles bore the brunt of the home fans' ire after being booked for diving, then involving himself in a fracas with full-back Dean Moxey on the touchline.

The winger may have been lucky to escape a second yellow but then found himself at the heart of everything the Whites were doing going forward.

He brought one good save out of Julian Speroni and then saw another effort deflected narrowly over the top.

Darren Pratley will also feel he should have done better after getting on the end of Tyrone Mears' cross and heading wide.

But it was the home side who just shaded the first half, and Palace had a goal disallowed just before the break when Yannick Bolasie's shot was pushed away by Adam Bogdan and Glenn Murray tapped in from an offside position.

The second half was a different story altogether, however, as Freedman's plan to starve Zaha of possession started to unravel.

The £12million rated youngster hit the post with one effort, then stabbed agonisingly wide by Andre Moritz.

He then turned creator for Murray to waste another golden chance after wrestling clear of Marcos Alonso on the right.

Wanderers had to do a lot of defending, with Tim Ream particularly outstanding in the middle.

But they might have nicked a goal. Alonso saw one effort deflected just wide and Speroni nearly got caught out by a bobbling effort from Keith Andrews.

Right at the death, Bogdan preserved a point with a great save from Murray as Palace piled on the pressure.

But after searching for so long to find a clean sheet on their travels – their last in the league coming on the opening day of last season, 32 games ago – Wanderers have now had two in a week.
