REPORTS suggest that Kevin Davies is on the verge of signing for MLS outfit Toronto FC.

Sources across the Atlantic are claiming that the 36-year-old has agreed a deal to sign with the club, currently managed by ex-Blackburn centre-half Ryan Nelsen.

Davies was told at the end of March that he would not have his contract renewed at the Reebok and has not featured on the pitch for Dougie Freedman's side since.

The 36-year-old has previously turned down a chance to play in the MLS with Houston Dynamo because he wanted to keep his family in England.

Wanderers faced Toronto in a pre-season friendly two years ago and BMO Field, winning on penalties.

He would join the likes of Rob Earnshaw, John Bostock and Hogan Ephraim in the Reds' squad, who have won one, drawn four and lost two of their opening games in the Eastern Conference.
