EDGWORTH enjoyed themselves in the blazing sunshine as they topped 300 in a scorching 217-run victory over Golborne at the Barlow Memorial Institute.
The village side have not always produced the results to match the talent in their ranks, but it was there in all its glory on Saturday with Ali Dickson (91), Mike Watkinson (78), Jaco Fourie (42) and Simon Lord (40) making hay and giving the Golborne bowlers a torrid time.
Edgworth posted a massive 316-6 – only the third time a side has topped 300 in the Association this summer – before skipper Liam Watkinson proved that bowlers could also shine in the sun, taking 8-51 to skittle the visitors inside 25 overs and leapfrog Walshaw and Bury to move up to fourth in the table.
