Predictions for a top 6 this year?

Tough to say at the minute. If Wanderers sign a striker (a la Jutkiewicz) I think they can be in there.

From the England camp - Danny Wellbeck hasn't trained. Cue mass panic.

Personally, I wouldn't start him...

Forest, I assume...

Yes - once took some money out of the ATM there. Required a bit of explaining to the wife when "Hooters - £30" came up on the bank statement.

What are your best away trips then? Assume that proximity of local pubs plays a big part for most people.

3:44pm

That does surprise me a little bit. I tend to stick to the press box, of course, but Reebok always struck me as a smart place to visit.

3:34pm

So, a survey from the Football Supporters Federation has ranked Wanderers 18th out of 24 Championship clubs for their away day exprience...

That's why the football clubs agreed it whilst the likes of Bolton were in the Premiership. Who was one of the clubs agreeing to it? West Ham United. So they could keep the likes of Bolton where they are now. We tried cutting back a season too early and are paying the price for it.

3:19pm

So, my World Cup Wanderers XI will be in the paper tomorrow. I'm also hoping for some World Cup predictions from the sportsdesk and a few ex-Whites stars.

2:19pm

Is that a team of Roger or Nicky Hunts??

Blackpool have confirmed that Jose Riga will be their manager next season. A 12-month deal for the former Charlton boss.

Excellent side there from @Nidgster - wouldn't fancy coming up against him.

Sorry about the hiatus there - was editing a picture for tomorrow's paper.

On the goalkeeper front you could pick from Peter Shilton, Eddie Hopkinson or, erm, Juergen Sommer?

10:21am

I'll give a helping hand for those struggling to come up with names in a bit.

10:15am

Our first World Cup XI...

Bolton may have a trick up their sleeve to bring both of them in if they get sordell and Andrews off the wage bill?

Hope so - All quiet at the moment, though.

10:13am

OK - a Wanderers/World Cup teaser for you this morning. I'm asking for an all-time Wanderers World Cup XI.

Here are the rules...

Players do not have to have represented Bolton at the same time as playing in the World Cup, therefore someone like Franny Lee could count.

There are no set formations - choose what you like.

And ex-Bolton managers count too, so you could select Jimmy Armfield or Phil Neal if you so wished.

10:05am

What kind of World Cup fan are you? Apparently there are eight different types... Read on.

9:58am

9:55am

Just a quick note on some speculation flying round about ex-Burnley defender David Edgar - no interest from Bolton, I'm told.

9:54am

RE: Mason/Jutkiewicz. I'd love to see both but being realistic, it would be difficult to do financially unless we're talking loans - which at the moment, I don't think is the case.

Think we'll see if/when any sanctions come into force in the Football League.

9:43am

There is work going on behind the scenes - it just doesn't move that quickly at this stage of the season. Striker, full-back being sought.

9:35am

The Bolton News: Wanderers players Radhi Jaidi, Hidetoshi Nakata and Gary Speed discuss tactics at Wigan

Interesting article on former Wanderers midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata - says of his time at Wanderers "it was difficult to adapt."

9:09am

The Bolton News: Tommy Banks reflecting on the 1958 World Cup

And one of Wanderers' World Cup legends, Tommy Banks, recalls his experience at the 1958 tournament in Brazil and why the Munich tragedy cost England so dearly.

9:07am

The Bolton News: Kevin Davies

Another ex-Wanderer giving his thoughts is Kevin Davies, who hopes England can go on the attack against Italy when they meet on Saturday night.

9:05am

The Bolton News: Roy McFarland

Few bits of Wanderers news in the paper this morning - including former manager Roy McFarland tipping Dougie Freedman's side to do well next season.
