Westhoughton held their nerve to power to a four-wicket win at Woodbank yesterday to set up a Lancashire Knockout quarter-final at Ormskirk.

The Bolton League side restricted their hosts - who play in the Lancashire County League - to 235-7 from their 45 overs, with pro Qaiser Abbas taking 2-25 and the remaining five wickets shared between five different bowlers.

In reply, wicketkeeper Kieran Paisley top scored with 84 from 73 balls, clearing the ropes with two sixes and hitting 13 fours.

Sean Dunning picked up the baton to steer Westhoughton past their total with almost three overs to spare after hitting an unbeaten 40 from 28 deliveries.
