IT WAS a point that signalled the rot had been stopped at Wanderers – even though the good times were still long from returning.
Dougie Freedman’s side remained second bottom after their worst start in 50 years and were still searching for a first win.
But there were at least some signs of fight after the manager rang the changes.
Loan trio Liam Feeney, Kevin McNaughton and Neil Danns started at Bloomfield Road and the result was a much-improved performance.
Jermaine Beckford hit the post and forced Matt Gilks into a superb save, while Tim Ream poked over from close range.
Blackpool had their chances too, with Ricardo Fuller’s cross-shot hooked off the line by ex-Tangerine Alex Baptiste.
The first win would come a few days later against Birmingham City, but the stats would still show that after 13 games Wanderers made their worst start to a league campaign since 1902.
