NEIL Lennon is confident Wanderers now have the firepower to push them up the Championship table.

While leaks at the back have been a concern in recent weeks for the Whites boss, he has been pleased with the production rate of his frontline that has seen the team score in 10 successive Championship fixtures including 11 goals in the last five league outings.

And with joint top scorer Craig Davies and Emile Heskey close to a return to the first team after hamstring injuries, that attacking department will soon have even more options.

In the pair's absence, youth graduate Zach Clough and loan arrival Adam Le Fondre have been among the goals – ably supported by Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Le Fondre has netted in his last two games while Clough's brace against Watford last weekend took his tally to five in six appearances.

And Lennon has been pleased with the pair's contribution.

The Whites boss said: "I think we've got more goals in us now than when I came here.

"Alfie (Le Fondre) will definitely score goals and his performances have merited goals so I was delighted he got up and running in the Fulham game.

"Then it was a brilliant strikers’ goal against Watford.

"It was great play and great pace from (Liam) Feeney and then a great finish.

"He has goals in him and I’ve always felt that.

"With Zach, there are aspects of the game he needs to learn but he is only five games into his career.

"At times last weekend he could have slipped people in who were in great positions on the counter attack and he’s very good at that.

"But he's a top player and scored two great goals."

With Davies, Heskey and Gudjohnsen in the mix, Lennon believes he has the right blend up top.

He concedes the team may be lacking a prolific 20-goal-plus frontman at present but is confident the goals will also be spread around.

Lennon added: "(Saidy) Janko was a bit of a surprise in terms of the goal he scored [against Fulham] but not in terms of his performance.

"He should chip in, and I think Feeney has got goals in him as well.

"I still think (Barry) Bannan may have one or two in him too.

"While we don't have a 25-goal-a-season striker, we are getting goals from different areas of the pitch which is pleasing."
