The short drive to Wigan proved to be anything but as we got trapped by all the roadworks and closures springing up to block motorists around this part of Lancashire.

Once we got there, the hospitality from Wigan was very good as usual. We were invited into the "away fans only" marquee before the match to enjoy, what else, but a pie and a pint.

For those in the know, you could beat the queues and return to the marquee for half time refreshments.

Our support was terrific as we filled the North Stand. It’s a pity that the team weren’t.

In fact, we were awful. It was difficult to tell which team was under a real threat of relegation.

It’s a good job that we look to have enough points already because I wouldn’t rely on this team to keep us up. Four wins from 15 matches in 2015 speaks for itself.

The only ray of light was young Tom Walker who got his first senior goal, albeit from a wicked deflection past Ali Al Hasbi.

It was no surprise when Wigan equalised as we couldn’t hold onto the ball in the second half.

Another attack of the nervous 90s meant we came home with one point instead of three but, to be honest, that was more than we deserved.

The woodwork kept us in the game on several occasions, while Wigan’s poor finishing showed why they are where they are. Ali Al Hasbi didn’t have a save to make.

Grumblings about Neil Lennon’s tactics are beginning to be heard. The mission at the moment seems to be to try and see this season out and start afresh next season. That does not make for good viewing for the fans.

A special mention must go to Bolton fan Frank Daubney who found a "History of Ipswich Town in Newspaper Cuttings" book in a charity shop and he presented it to a young Ipswich fan before the match on Tuesday.

It was the young lad’s first ever match and he’s now got Bolton Wanderers as his second team.
