TONY Foster may have been in Florida but it did not stop him from getting his parkrun fix.
The regular Leverhulme Park runner got a parkrun experience of a different kind on Saturday when he took part in the event at Clermont Waterfront.
There was no rest for Tony while on holiday as he got up at 6am for a 7.30am start in 72 degrees.
Meanwhile, back in Bolton there was a large turnout of 322 on Saturday, just 20 short of the record attendance.
There were 46 first timers, 72 recorded new personal bests and representatives of 21 different athletics clubs took part.
The ladies’ quickest times were recorded by Isabella Merritt (setting a new personal best in the process), Katy Thompson and Olivia Kearney (Bolton United Harriers & AC).
Their male counterparts in crossing the line first were John Knowles (Bolton United Harriers & AC), Tommy Harrison and Thomas Fletcher.
There were 18 volunteers to help make it happen and, as ever, if you would like to volunteer one Saturday morning email BoltonOffice@parkrun.com to register your interest.
Notable personal bests were recorded this week by Lewis Hodgson (24mins 14secs), Chloe Ainsworth (24:58), Ciaran Marland (27:53), James Woolard (21:59) and Mike Gregson (28:36).
Runner of the week: Brendan Connaughton who set a new personal best of 22:07 on his 69th run, his first personal best since April last year.
