EDGWORTH moved one step closer to securing the Bolton Association title on Saturday as they defeated third-placed Bury.

Brett Ernst starred with the bat hitting 69 as the league leaders replied with four wickets to spare. Neil Tong was the most notable bowler taking 3-45.

And with two games remaining, Edgworth captain Guy Haynes is keeping his feet well and truly on the ground.

“It is a case of winning two more games,” he said.

“Swinton Moorside are right in the mix and we need to expect them to win their last two games which means that we have to win our last two.

“We will take it one game at a time but there are no easy games. We played well on Saturday and we need to make sure that we continue that in our next game.
