ATHERTON Colls look to continue their impressive season by progressing in the FA Carlsberg Vase tonight.

Michael Clegg's side, who maintained their impressive momentum with a 7-2 drubbing of Silsden on Monday night, will be strong favourites at home to their lowly First Division opponents.

While Colls are seventh in the North West Counties Premier Division, their title rivals will be looking over their shoulders as Colls are only nine points off top spot and have games in hand on the teams above them.

Tonight's second-round clash at Alder Street follows Monday night's goal-fest which saw Jordan Cover and Mark Truffas put them 2-0 up inside eight minutes before being pulled back by two goals in four minutes before 20 inside the first quarter of the match.

An own goal gave Colls a 3-2 lead at half time and further goals for Ben Hardcastle, Dave Sherlock, Callum Jones and Cover sealed the big win.

In the First Division 13-placed Atherton LR will be looking to pull away from the lower reaches when they travel to bottom club Eccleshall, while second-bottom Daisy Hill travel to ninth-placed St Helens Town.
