EVERTON and Bournemouth are among the Premier League clubs circling Wanderers defender and player of the year Rob Holding.

The highly-rated centre-half has been the bright spot of a disappointing campaign and told fans at the Macron last night he was looking forward to next season with the Whites.

No bid has yet been received but Wanderers are well aware of a queue forming for the 20-year-old’s services as the club drops into League One.

Co-owner Dean Holdsworth wouldn't comment on an individual club's interest but believes Holding could play at the highest level eventually.

“Rob is very much a modern-style centre half,” he said. “He is comfortable on the ball, steps into space, has good awareness, and I have said before I think he’s got a very good chance of playing for England’s Under-21s.

“We rate him very, very highly at Bolton Wanderers and I think he can go on and have a good career.”

Holding only made his debut in August against Burton Albion, his only taste of first team football to that point being a single substitute appearance for Bury whilst on loan last season.

He has blossomed since coming into the team at Christmas, however, and could now be the club’s most saleable asset.
