WESTHOUGHTON and Horwich recorded the victories required over Blackrod and Daisy Hill to enable them both to overtake Adlington who completed their fixtures the previous week.

Westhoughton made 145-4, with Oliver Newby hitting a half century, Qaisar Abbas 28 and Danny Naylor 21.

George Tipping 21 and Joe Speak 46 gave Blackrod a chance at 102-5, but Kieran Edwards returned to the attack ending with figures of 4-20, and with support from Paul Hart with 2-34 and only another 12 runs were scored.

Daisy Hill hit 105, with the only innings of note coming from Sam Pendlebury with 39. Zain Patel and Joe Baldwin took three wickets each.

It took Horwich just 14 overs to overtake this total with Tom Billington hitting 55 not out and Phil Ingram 37 not out.

In the North Section Bradshaw beat the odds to finish behind Lostock. Bradshaw had to beat Heaton and obtain one more bonus point than their opponents.

At 68-6 requiring 120 without losing another wicket Bradshaw finished on 121 thanks to a half century from skipper Nick Lester and 20 from Jake O'Byrne who both finished not out.

Mustapher Bashir took 2-16 for Heaton. Scores in the twenties from Joe Ball and Humayan Farhat took Heaton to 45-1, but Jordy Mason took 3-7 from his four overs and Phil Dickinson 2-8 as Heaton finished 108 all out with only Gary Garner providing further resistance.

Despite needing only one point to stay ahead of Bradshaw, Eagley remained pointless in a match reduced to 15 overs at home to Lostock.

The visitors made 125-5 with Jaydyn Simmons scoring 42, Robbie Holgate 38 and David Flannagan 33. Agah Salman took three wickets late in the innings. Jordan Lomax, 38 and Will Shuttleworth 42 put Eagley on course for victory but Flanagan with 4-12 and Simmons 2-21 removed the middle order cheaply leaving Eagley on 118, six short of victory.

There was no play between Farnworth SC and Walkden, and Darcy Lever duly defeated Tonge and gained the bonus point required to take them above Little Lever into second place.

Tonge scored 149-9 from their 20 overs with Sajad Shah scoring 43 and Jamie Worrell 39.

Dominic Gavin, Scott Burns and Sam Crook each took two wickets before Darcy reached their target with eight wickets and five balls remaining, Crook scoring 67 and Cameron Murray 72 not out.
