THE sixth round of the Central Lancashire Grand Prix, hosted by Chorley AC, was a damp affair as the Blue Vests struggled to muster an A Team.

Tommy Harrison led the squad by taking bronze over the 4.6 miles of Astley Park, with Tony Valentine following up for fourth.

Simon Dally also claimed a top-10 place and must appear in all the remaining fixtures to defend his M45 crown.

Danny Shaw placed 12th, while Paul Mills, in 25th, took control of the M50 series.

Ken Fowler lost the M60 battle for the first time in 18 months, while Cecilia Woods’ consistent pacing was excellent for 163rd of the 293 field and lies second in the F55 category.

Bolton slumped in the B Team and female tables as a result of the small squad, and are left clinging on to second spot in the vets standing. The lead in the A Team table was cut to a slender 18 points by Leigh.
