WANDERERS are aiming to bring Antonee Robinson back from Everton on loan by the close of the transfer window.

The Bolton News understands a request has been made to loan the USA international for a second season.

Everton are believed to be looking at bringing another senior left-back to Goodison Park this summer, after which they could be open to sending the 20-year-old out for more first-team experience.

Robinson – nicknamed ‘Jedi’ – was a big hit last year for Wanderers, making 30 appearances in the Championship in what was his first full season in professional football.

He capped that off by breaking into the US senior team, making his debut against Bolivia in May.

Phil Parkinson needs left-back competition for Andy Taylor and has waited patiently for Everton to give him the green light for a loan move.

The Wanderers boss is also known to be in the market for a back-up goalkeeper, a centre-back, a creative central midfielder and two strikers before the loan window closes on August 31.

Bolton go to Peterborough United this afternoon looking to finish a disjointed pre-season on a high. And Phil Parkinson believes the team he puts out from the start against Posh will be something like the one he fields at West Brom on the opening day of the season.

Marc Wilson could play his first game for the club after sitting out the midweek friendly defeat at Guiseley and it is expected Jack Hobbs and Gary O’Neil will again feature as trialists.

“The Peterborough game is the final one, so I don’t think it will be far away from what we use at West Brom,” he said.

“A bit like the Girona game I kind of pieced the team together against Guiseley, we didn’t do anything on team shape, it was purely a planning exercise on what players needed certain minutes.

“This is a chance to draw a few more things together. It is still about preparation, so the result isn’t the most important thing, but we need to be ready for the game a week later.”
