WANDERERS maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season with a 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers.

Ian Evatt's side look in good form a week before the League One kick-off against MK Dons but how did the players rate?

The Bolton News:

WANDERERS (4-2-3-1).

JOEL DIXON…6.

Dixon had to be smart off his line a couple of times to stifle danger but it would be remiss to ignore a couple of nervy moments when the ball was at his feet.

GETHIN JONES…7.

Looks in very good nick. He and Baptiste stepped into midfield with great effect in the first half to create overloads. Mr Reliable keeps on ticking.

ALEX BAPTISTE…7.

Hasn’t really missed a beat in pre-season. The rigours of League One will be a step up, of course, but the veteran doesn’t show any signs of slowing down yet.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.5.

Certainly didn’t treat this one like a friendly. The former Liverpool man made a good impression on his new club’s supporters with a committed performance.

DECLAN JOHN…6.5.

The partnership with Afolayan is going to be so important for Bolton this season, and it is already showing signs of firing in pre-season.

MJ WILLIAMS…6.5.

A few more flashes of what he can do on the ball, and not always about breaking up play. You can tell MJ has had an uninterrupted pre-season and he’s one Bolton can hang their hat on.

JOSH SHEEHAN…7.5.

Some silky touches and a passing range which adds a real sense of adventure to the Bolton midfield. Yes, he should have extended the lead at 2-0, but got into the right positions.

LLOYD ISGROVE…6.5.

Cap off to Isgrove, who has barely had any training but looked in good touch for the first hour. One of last season’s unsung heroes has arrived with perfect timing.

ANTONI SARCEVIC…6.5.

Wanted the ball, always looking forward. And though it didn’t all come off for the skipper you could tell he was keen to impress on the watching fans.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…8.

Blackburn’s defenders just didn’t want him to get the ball for the first hour. Always looking to make things happen, get into the penalty box. Deserved his goal.

AMADOU BAKAYOKO…6.5.

Worked hard to close down spaces and never gave the Rovers defender a moment’s peace. Didn’t get much of a sniff of goal – but put in a good day’s work, Subs: Brockbank 60 (for Johnston), Doyle 67 (for Isgrove), Darcy 81 (for Afolayan), Gordon 81 (for John), Politic 86 (for Bakayoko), Tutte 86 (for Williams), Crawford 86 (for Sheehan), Senior 90 (for Baptiste) Not used: Hutchinson.
