Wanderers’ B Team were beaten 3-0 by Accrington Stanley Reserves this afternoon in the Central League.

Jack Nolan, who has made 14 first-team appearances for the Reds this season, scored a hat trick at the Stanley Community Hub.

The result saw the hosts secure the league title, having won six of their 11 games so far and losing just once.

The first goal came from a mistake from Ellis Litherland, who was caught on the ball before Nolan found the empty net from a tight angle.

The second was a pinpoint strike, picking out the bottom corner after cutting in from the right flank and getting past Nelson Khumbeni.

Nolan’s third also came from outside the box, beating Litherland low to his left after finding a pocket of space.

The likes of George Johnston, MJ Williams, George Thomason and Lloyd Isgrove have all featured for the second string in recent weeks after recovering from their respective injuries. However, no members of the first-team squad were in action against the Reds.

Wanderers have now picked up 10 points from their 10 league fixtures since the start of the campaign and remain fifth in the table.

The young Whites’ next scheduled Central League match is on Tuesday, April 18 when they host Fleetwood Town Reserves. The Cod Army are in sixth place – a point behind Matt Craddock’s side but with a game in hand at this stage.
