WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).
NATHAN BAXTER…7.
Tried to get involved as Wanderers worked the ball out from the back – and made the only save that came his way from Wildschut, which was also flagged offside!
GETHIN JONES…8.
One of the players who really put Bolton on the front foot early on. Some classy touches around the penalty box.
RICARDO SANTOS…7.5.
Marking a fellow centre-half, he strolled through the game making it look positively enjoyable. Tougher challenges lie ahead in the next two games, but this was a breeze.
EOIN TOAL…7.5.
Nearly got himself on the end of a couple of set pieces and pushed on happily down the left to combine with Thomason and Iredale.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…8.5.
Just over 21 per cent of his touches on the ball were in the Bolton half. Quite simply camped out in Exeter territory and caused mayhem.
PARIS MAGHOMA…9.
Had the crowd chanting his name in appreciation, and rightly so. He danced on the ball, made things happen and scored a goal. They could not lay a finger on him.
JOSH SHEEHAN…7.5.
Glided through the game and just kept the midfield ticking along. His set pieces were effective and he was able to conserve a bit of energy for the challenges ahead.
GEORGE THOMASON…8.
Got himself involved in just about everything, showed some lovely touches around the penalty box and continues to look like a player bang in form.
JACK IREDALE…8.
What a return. Got the ball rolling with a great header, rattled four shots on goal, and made a mockery of Exeter’s attempts to funnel play in his direction.
DION CHARLES…8.5.
Brimming with confidence after his international goal in midweek he provided another lesson in being in the right place at the right time.
VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…8.
Fully deserves to be back on the scoresheet after such a lot of hard work had gone unrewarded in the last few weeks. A big plus for this team.
Subs: Morley 7, 64 (for Sheehan) – Kept the tempo up and played some cracking passes.
Bodvarsson 7, 64 (for Adeboyejo) – Unlucky not to have grabbed a goal but looked dangerous.
Dempsey 75 (for Thomason) – Couldn’t have done much more with his time on the pitch.
Nlundulu 75 (for Charles) – You could see what the goal meant. Deserved his break.
Gomes 75 (for Maghoma) – Looked in the mood but for one daft pass.
Not used: Jerome, Forrester.
Tactics 9/10 - Exeter tried to divert Bolton to their right flank for the opening 25 minutes - potentially knowing the attack-minded Williams was absent - and for a brief moment it looked like it could frustrate. But Bolton got the breakthrough and were eventually tearing the visitors to shred at will on both sides.
Exeter City (5-3-2): Sinisalo; Niskanen, Aimson, Sweeney, Hartridge, Jules; Carroll, Trevitt, Kite; Aitchison, Diabate.
Subs: Rankine 45 (for Jules), Taylor 64 (for Carroll), Wildschut 64 (for Diabate), Harper 65 (for Niskanen).
Not used: Scott, Cole, MacDonald.
Referee: Ben Speedie 7/10 – Surely the easiest afternoon that any referee has had at Bolton all season. No big decisions, other than how many more minutes to add on for all the goals!
Attendance: 19,193
