Daisy Hill’s scheduled match at Nelson in the North West Counties League First Division North on Saturday was postponed less than an hour before kick off.
Although a number of games in the league had fallen foul of the weather on Saturday morning, Nelson had declared the game was definitely on.
Daisy Hill players and officials were already at the ground when the match referee began to carry out a pitch inspection, and he subsequently declared the surface was unplayable in certain areas.
A date for the rearranged fixture will be announced in due course.
Daisy’s next scheduled game in the North West Counties League First Division North is on Saturday when they travel to face Darwen.
