Daisy Hill’s league campaign in the North West Counties League First Division North was completed last weekend, but this week the squad have been preparing for two games in local cup competitions in the coming days.

Daisy host Tempest United on Monday evening in the first round of the Bolton Hospital Cup, and two days later Garswood United visit the Plumb Factory Stadium in the semi-final of the Atherton Charity Cup.

And Daisy boss Lee Hill is looking for his side to finish the season on a high in both competitions.

“Our focus now is on the two cup competitions and if we can get into a final or even win a trophy, along with a 12th-place finish in the league, you would have to consider that a successful season for us,” said Hill.

“We have trained as normal this week, although we had a tough game on a difficult pitch last Saturday against Garstang, and the lads have been working hard and looking towards the games next week.

“We don’t have much opportunity to rotate the squad as we have a number of injuries, so we have to be smart and we will approach the games in the way we have all season and have prepared the best we can.”
