DANNY Ward and Adam Blakeman look set to go out on loan after helping Wanderers reserves draw with Manchester City.

The transfer window reopened yesterday and Plymouth boss Peter Reid and Nottingham Forest assistant Julian Darby were among the crowd at Leyland’s County Ground to cast an eye over potential targets.

Striker Ward, whose loan spell at Coventry was cut short through injury in October after just five games, and the versatile Blakeman seem certain to go out in search of regular first-team football.

But it was Tom Eaves who impressed most with a lively display which included his seventh goal in eight games for the reserves.

Owen Coyle splashed £300,000 to bring the striker to the Reebok from Oldham over the summer after he scored a hat-trick against Wanderers in pre-season.

And the 19-year-old showed why with an excellent first-time strike from the edge of the area after just three minutes.

City equalised eight minutes into the second half when Harry Bunn glanced home a free kick from Andrea Mancini, the son of City manager Roberto.

The game swung back in Bolton’s favour when Abdul Razak was sent off minutes later for a two-footed lunge at Tope Obadeyi.

Blakeman, Ward, Eaves, twice, and Michael O’Halloran went close to winning it as John Henry’s much-improved side piled forward, but the 10 men held on for a point.
