DOUBLE-winners Greenmount paid the penalty for partying into the small hours of Sunday morning when they were beaten by Farnworth.

The Bury men had done the important work the previous day when their weather- induced draw at Little Lever saw them add the league title to their trophy cabinet for only the second time in their history, sparking deserved celebrations until 4am.

In advance of that, however, they suffered injuries to key men in the 46-run reverse against Farnworth and the previous day’s draw at Little Lever.
