CHUNG-Yong Lee has told Arsene Wenger to play Park Chu-Young regularly if he wants to see the best from his fellow countryman.

Wanderers’ South Korean winger will miss a reunion with his former FC Seoul team-mate at the Emirates tomorrow after fracturing his leg in pre-season.

Park made his Arsenal debut in the midweek Carling Cup victory against Shrewsbury following his deadline-day move from Monaco. But the 26-year-old striker has yet to appear in the Premier League.

Lee, who joined to Bolton in July 2009, knows how difficult it is to adjust to the hurly burly of the English top flight – and the Reebok ace believes playing every week helped him adapt more quickly.

And he insists sitting on the bench with the Gunners will do Park no favours.

“It was hard at first to play in the Premier League but I was lucky to play every single match and that helped adapt and get used to my new team-mates,” said the 23-year-old.

“Chu-Young will need to do the same if he is to settle quickly.

“He’s a good friend and he will be a threat if he plays. He’s very quick, smart and technically good.

“Bolton will have to watch out for him.

“I would’ve have liked to have played against him and, when I get back to UK, then I will get in touch with him.”

The succes of Lee and Manchester United’s Ji-Sung Park in the Premier League has seen other clubs follow suit with Arsenal recruiting Park and Sunderland signing Dong-Won Ji.

And the Wanderers wideman, back in Seoul continuing his recovery, is confident his fellow Koreans can also prosper.

He said: “Korean players are strong mentally so, wherever they go, they will succeed. I expect them all to do well.”
