AFTER the boredom of international games, real football is back this weekend with Wanderers at home to Blackpool tomorrow, of course, and the exciting battle resuming at the top and bottom of the Premier League.

Chelsea will be fully expected to hammer another nail in the coffins of the trailing pack.

Main rivals – are they still? – Manchester City could well find themselves down a couple of places in fourth by the time they take on Crystal Palace away on Monday night with rivals United expected to leapfrog them by beating Aston Villa at home at 3pm on Saturday (proper time and day for football!) and Arsenal able to go second if they beat Liverpool at the Emirates a couple of hours or so earlier.

Bury continue their impressive challenge for promotion in League Two away to Cambridge today before hosting Morecambe on Monday when Wanderers travel to Cardiff.

Away from football, there's some horse racing close to home with Haydock staging a meeting tomorrow and the Miami Open goes into day 12 tonight and continues over the weekend for tennis aficionados.

One sport which always fails to catch my imagination is rugby sevens, which is taking place in Tokyo this weekend.

It's a bit like futsal to me, if you're going to play a sport why not just play the proper version?
