WANDERERS rocked Goodison Park to leave the Everton regulars questioning whether manager David Moyes had taken the club as far as he could.

Hard though it is to imagine now, the Scot was under considerable pressure after the Blues had scored just four times in eight home games and were struggling to escape the bottom three.

By contrast, Wanderers were fifth and starting to dream of Champions League football thanks to a double from Stelios on Merseyside, sandwiched between goals for Kevin Davies and boyhood Evertonian Gary Speed.

Moyes was understandably low after a heavy defeat.

"If you go to the parks on a Sunday morning you will not see goals as bad as the ones we conceded. We had a mad 10 or 15 minutes,” he said.

"I will take responsibility because I work and coach the players, but it is very difficult to take responsibility for those goals.

"We have lost by four goals at home and it is very embarrassing for us. I don't feel very good after that."
