ASTLEY and Tyldesley will be aiming to move up the Northern League Division One and Division Two tables and extend their unbeaten run in Division Three when they take on Northumbria Vikings at Gin Pit on Sunday, starting at 2pm.

The club – sponsored by CWTS Ltd and based at Astley & Tyldesley Miners’ Welfare Club in Meanley Road, Tyldesley – will host the opening round of the Manchester League series next Wednesday. Registration takes place at 7pm and racing starts at 7.30pm.

A&T’s juniors will launch their defence of the Division Two title, while the seniors will contest the Division One match.

Practice sessions are held on Tuesday nights for under-13s (6-7pm and 7-8pm) and for over-13s and seniors (8-9pm).
