BLACKROD boxer Rick Godding extended his unbeaten professional record to 22 fights with victory on Saturday night.
The 30-year-old light-middleweight beat Doncaster's Adam Jones on points after six rounds at Preston's Guild Hall as he continues his comeback after two years out with a shoulder injury.
It was Godding's 21st victory and his second since returning in February.
He is due back in the ring in less than a month when he travels to fight at Wembley Arena in London.
The Bolton star is due to take on 24-year-old Londoner Gary Corcoran on a Frank Warren bill in the capital on Friday, July 24.
Corcoran is also unbeaten having won all 12 of his professional bouts to date – six buy way of a knockout – and also beat Yorkshireman Jones earlier this year.
