BOLTON superstar boxer Amir Khan suffered a fourth professional defeat of his career when he lost to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas overnight.
Khan, who stepped up in weight to take on the Mexican champion, put in a brave display in the WBC world middleweight title clash at the T-Mobile Arena but was caught by a superb right hand by Canelo in the sixth round that put him to the canvas and brought the fight to an end midway through.

Now Khan is expected to drop back down to welterweight for his next outing after the loss to a classy Canelo.
Khan said: "I showed courage to get in the ring with Canelo.
"I tried my best but it wasn't to be but thanks to everyone who supported me.
"I am naturally a 147lbs fighter and want to right the best at that level next."
