TWO Bolton Association sides Blackrod CC and Daisy Hill CC have taken three out of the four trophies in this years West Lancashire Sunday League Cricket competitions.

Blackrod Cricket Club won the Beardsley Cup last Sunday(23rd) in a rain affected game they won a bowl out 3-1.

Blackrod were well on course to win the game before the rain came having restricted Sutton CC to 84 runs from their 40 overs, with superb bowling from both Matt Readey and Graeme Walsh who took three wickets each for single figure totals.

The side also finished second in the Division One League.

Daisy Hill Cricket Club did the league and cup double this year.

They won the the Division 2 league this year only losing one game all season. They retained the Hanson Cup for the second year running by beating Haydock CC in the final played at Sutton CC.

Daisy Hill fielded first and bowled Haydock out for 86 runs. Sam Pendlebury (man of the match) and James Mann started the run chase.

After Pendlebury was out, Imtiaz Cheema joined James at the wicket and the total was achieved in just over 13 overs.

The West Lancashire League are hoping to have more teams in the league next year, six teams teams have already expressed an interest in playing third team cricket with the league in 2016.
