THE Bolton Cricket League will choose from nine different names when they decide what to call their new expanded structure next week.

Voting will take place at the League's monthly meeting at Tonge CC on Monday when names for the overall league and its future two divisions will be decided.

The League is increasing from 14 clubs to 21 next year, when all teams will play each other once, and then to two divisions the year after.

Names are needed for the two divisions and there is also the possibility that the overall league may change its name to incorporate the fact that nine established Bolton Association clubs are joining.

The names in the frame, in order of league name, top division, second division, are:

Bolton Cricket Alliance, Bolton League, Bolton Association.

Bolton Cricket Alliance, League, Association.

Bolton Cricket League, Bolton League, Bolton Association.

Bolton Cricket League, League, Association.

Bolton Cricket League (BCL), Premiership, Association.

Bolton Cricket League, Premiership, Bolton Association.

Bolton Cricket League, Premiership, B&DCA.

Bolton Cricket League, Premiership, Championship (with the name Association be retained for a cup competition).

Bolton Cricket League, Division One, Division Two.

The least popular suggestion will be removed at each stage of the voting until one proposal receives more than 50 per cent of the available votes.

Should there be an equal number of votes cast for two proposals the chair will have a casting vote.

Should there be a three or more way tie; the vote will be re-run at the league meeting on November 2.
