BRADSHAW Heat beat counterparts Bradshaw Sixers by 46 runs to take victory in the Bolton Cricket League Under-11s indoor tournament on Sunday.

After three weeks of competition, both sides, who topped their respective groups, did battle, with the Sixers winning the toss and bowling first.

Steady scoring throughout the innings saw Heat amass a daunting total of 283-4 which was enough for them to lift the Barlow Trophy, making it a hat-trick of wins in this competition.

With time running out, and the Sixers still needing 40 to win, wickets began to tumble, leaving the Sixers to finish runners-up in the tournament after registering 237-5.

Manager and coach Mike Buckley, ably assisted by Andy Needham, paid tribute to the finalists, who got the basics right and provided the foundations for some excellent cricket.

Elsewhere, Heaton and Kearsley, who both finished second in their groups, played to see who would take third spot.

Heaton scored 231-6 in their innings, which was comfortably surpassed by Kearsley, who notched a total of 273-3.

Eagley and Little Hulton played after coming third in their groups, and served up a thriller, with Little Hulton winning by four runs.

Eagley scored 233-5, before Little Hulton edged home with a score of 237-2.
