BRADSHAW, Horwich RMI and Farnworth remain the only sides with 100 per cent winning records after six weeks in the Bolton League 2nd XI league.

Bradshaw stay top after a 64-run win at Eagley. Despite 31 from Craig Faulkner and 32 from Mick Craig late in the order the home side never really threatened to reach their target with Jordan Evans (4-17) providing the main threat.

Bradshaw's total of 215-7 was built around Nick Palmer and Eliot Dargan who made 50 and 44, respectively, as Will Owen claimed 3-57 for Eagley.

Horwich RMI also enjoyed a comfortable win as they eased past Blackrod by 104 runs.

David Hunt's 49 was the mainstay of RMI's total of 175-7 as both Jon Gosling and Tony Tipping grabbed three wickets for Blackrod.

The run chase never got going as Sam Little (3-11) and Zaid Patel (3-16) ripped through the innings, and but for 31 extras it could have been even worse.

Sharples Park hosted a thriller which eventually saw Astley Bridge edge past Daisy Hill by just one wicket.

The visitors batted first and, with Darshan Varsani (27) and Mike Leeming (23) making useful contributions, reached a total of 134. Adam Patel took 3-17.

Siraj Patel (33) and Millen Patel (26) led the reply. Joe Leeming took 3-27 for Daisy Hill.

Champions Westhoughton continued their climb up the table with a 24-run win at Atherton. Steady contributions from Arun Pindoria (36), Kieran Waters (34) and Matthew Trow (30) helped Westhoughton to post a total of 167-7.

Despite six scores in double figures – Phil Campbell's 28 and James Hatton 25 being the highest – Atherton were kept in check by Sean Dunning's 3-17 and were eventually all out for 146.

Darcy Lever and Little Hulton contested a low-scoring affair which saw Darcy the winners by 62 runs.

Batting first, Darcy struggled to reach 118 all out as Umar Rakar and Thomasson each grabbed four wickets for Little Hulton. Little Hulton were shot out for just 56 in reply.

Farnworth Social Circle and Lostock fought out a close game which saw Social eventually squeeze home with two wickets to spare.

After Phil Knowles (39) and Kieran Barlow (48) had laid a platform, Lostock managed 140 as Josh Roscoe took 4-17 and Jess Bradley 4-42.

Social's reply followed a similar pattern with wickets tumbling after Stephen French (57) and Andrew Wareing (29) were parted, but they held their nerve to get home. Tom Mills took 3-43.

Kearsley beat Heaton by just eight runs. Chasing a target of 188, home side Heaton fell agonisingly short on 179-8 despite the efforts of Joe Ball (51) and Jake Whittaker (37 not out) as Jack Scott and Bilal Shakede each took three wickets.

Whittaker had also starred with the ball earlier as he and Adam Halton both took four wickets to help dismiss their visitors for 187. Gary Tonge (46) and Jack Scott (35) were the main contributors to that total.

Little Lever enjoyed a comfortable 150-run win against Walkden at The Oval.

Having racked up 230-9, Lever dismissed their hosts for just 80 with Cameron Jones' 20 the main highlight of a disappointing reply as Donald Heyes took 4-16.

Lever's total had been built on a good start from Robert Waller (61) and Gareth Moxon (47) despite Razzaq taking four wickets for the hosts.

Adlington also enjoyed a comfortable win as they returned from Tonge with a seven-wicket win under their belts. Despite 23 from Mohsin Patel, Tonge never got to grips with the Adlington bowling as Zak Green collected 4-28 and brothers Elliot and George Lee took three each. Adlington lost three cheap wickets but Liam Kane (30no) and Eddie Haddon (27no) ensured the win.

Golborne were skittled for just 24 runs at home to Standish. David Houghton made 15 of those but the rest of the batting had little answer to the bowling of Graham Hardcastle (5-5) and Darren Monckton (4-17). Standish had little trouble in ensuring an early finish and a comfortable eight-wicket win.
