YOUNG cricket talent Daisy Mullan has been selected for the Lancashire Emerging Players Programme.

The 13-year-old Bolton girl is one of 18 teenage boys and girls from Lancashire and Cheshire to earn a place on the programme.

It is the second such call-up for the Turton High School pupil who was one of 15 elite girls from Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria and Staffordshire to be selected for the Lancashire Thunder Development Centre last month.

The Bradshaw girl is one of the youngest on the Lancashire initiatives to coach and develop young talent.

She only took up the sport two and a half years ago and plays for Bradshaw's under-13s and under-15s, and Leigh's under-13s, under-15s and open-age teams.

An all-round sportswoman, she was also recently selected for the Greater Manchester Schools under-14s girls team and scored in a 3-1 victory over Cambridgeshire at the ESSA Academy at Great Lever.
