THE downpour of rain affected three games in the Bolton League as Astley Bridge, Bradshaw and Little Lever all recorded victories after seeing off revised targets.

Bradshaw captain Nick Lester scored a century as he led his side to a 67-run victory against Horwich.

Stuart Hornby opened the batting with 56 and when he was bowled out in the fifth over Lester entered the crease and frustrated the bowling attack – patiently building a score of 120 before he was dismissed 41 overs later.

Kamran Younis added 65 runs to the tally to post 280-3.

But when the rain arrived Horwich were set a revised target of 223 and Matt Morris (53no) set about chasing the score down, with Phil Cavill chipping in with 47.

Even after resisting the bowling attack of Philip Dickinson (3-41) Horwich were only able to respond with 156-6, falling 67 runs short.

Astley Bridge chased down a revised target of 147 to defeat Kearsley after rain knocked 12 overs off their innings.

Charlie Dorsey scored 55 and Grant Cordin added 31, but Dave Cryer (3-38) and Yasir Rashid (3-45) did the damage with the ball and dismissed Kearsley for 169.

The star of the show was Syd De Silva who struck 70no, and team-mate Irfan Puda added 33 to reach to revised target with the loss of four wickets – Saeed Anwar Jnr (2-64) and Mohammed Jameel (2-70) took two wickets apiece.

Zain Abbas stole the show again for Little Lever as they continued their recent impressive form with a win away to Walkden.

Adnan Malik scored 37 of his sides 166 total – with Abbas bowling 4-26.

Abbas turned his hand to the bat and opened the batting scoring 86no, and Anthony Hilton chipped in with 33 as they met the revised target of 152 with two-wickets to spare.
