BURY boss Chris Casper believes his old mate Sean O'Driscoll is more than capable of springing a cup shock at the Keepmoat Stadium tomorrow.

Doncaster boss O'Driscoll leads his side into FA Cup action having lost just four of his first 25 games in charge of the Yorkshire club.

Since taking charge at Rovers in September last year, O'Driscoll has proved himself to be one of the most sought-after managers outside the top flight - but Casper, who played alongside him at Bournemouth as he was making his way up the coaching structure, has not been surprised by his success.

"Sean is a very good manager, and I'm sure he can't wait to have a go at Bolton," he said. "He was a youth team coach when I played down there, nearly 10 years ago now, and you could always tell that he was always going to make it in the management game.

"He did a very good job when he took over as manager at Bournemouth and now he has gone to Doncaster he has been very successful, so Premier League side or not, Bolton will have their work cut out.

"The place will be buzzing and I'm sure the Match of the Day cameras will be ready to capture any surprise, and my feeling is that it could be an excellent weekend for Sean."

League One Rovers opened their new stadium on New Year's Day with a thrilling 3-0 victory against local rivals Huddersfield Town in front of a crowd of nearly 15,000.

And that home advantage could help the Yorkshire club cause an upset against Sam Allardyce's high-flying Premiership side, said Casper.

"At home they will fancy themselves, especially if Sam does not play his strongest side and rotates some of his players.

"It's one of those games that really sums up the spirit of the cup."
